Game Concept
Working Title:
TOP TANK
Concept Statement:
A 1v1 top-down shooter where you and a friend can battle it out to see who is the TOP TANK!
Genre:
Top-down Arcade game
Concept Creation Process and Influences:
I want to recreate a game from my childhood that I would play almost every morning at primary school before class started called Tank Trouble. I felt that it would be fun to understand how a nostalgic game like Tank Trouble was made and try and recreate that nostalgia with something I made myself. The core of the game is just tanks moving around a map trying to shot the other one to get a point, which is what I want to try and recreate.
Target Audience and Competitive Analysis:
The target audience for my game is people who are short on time but want something to play between doing other things. The game loop is fairly short for my game with each round taking anywhere from 5-30 seconds depending on who fast you can destroy the opposing tank. The game will end when one of the players gets to 10 eliminations. This style of arcade game doesn't have mass market appeal so there aren't a lot of great examples of similar games that have been successful, but for arcade games in general Vampire Survivors is one of the most popular in recent history.
Game Treatment:
In this game, you will face off against an opponent in an arena trying to eliminate them. Each time you eliminate your opponent you each will respawn on a new map in a random place. The first to 10 eliminations wins.
Key features:
-Two Player
-Random Maps (randomly selected not generated)
Stretch goal features
-Ai opponent

Game Treatment here is good, although perhaps as a side-effect of the game being a clone of an existing game, the description ends up being a bit aimed at telling someone how to game works, rather than marketing the idea, and the list of features ends up feeling a bit lackluster -- having said that it is an achievable list of features, and overall a very achievable game concept for this unit, with room to add more features if you get the time.
A bit more detail overall, and concept art that evokes the intended art style was needed (but I appreciate the sketch to show how the game level will look). Some things like how the tanks would be controlled and how that impacts the gameplay, what variety in weaponry (if any) there is, would really help paint a clearer picture of the game, and assist with my ability to comment of the feasibility of the game.
